MODULE 1: INTRODUCTION TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DESIGN THINKING - Introduction

Imagen
Welcome to the blog created based on previous thoughts, main ideas, and experiences after the learning acquired from Module 1 of the “AI Applied to ESL” course. The module, based on artificial intelligence (AI), is not just a buzzword but a beacon of progress. Initially, I thought that AIs were just apps that could be used on the phone without taking into account the amazing things that can be obtained from different AIs by using them correctly. This module has taken into account the learning of not only knowing what an AI is but also how to design, learn from its hallucinations, and know how to use them to obtain successful results. This module takes us on an extensive journey into the world of AI, a realm filled with complexities and continuous advances. As we delved into the world of artificial intelligence, we also gained knowledge about the principles of responsible AI, ensuring that our innovations are as ethical as they are innovative for use in the world of education. The ...

Reflection

Imagen
When reflecting on the key concepts of AI learned in Module 1 and its intersection with human-centered design, it is important to highlight the enormous power of technology in the area of education and the importance of managing it responsibly. The introduction of AI has been revolutionary, but it requires an ethical framework that takes into account responsible AI. This ensures that as AI systems become more complex, they remain aligned with human values and social well-being, especially in the area of teaching, so that both students and teachers can responsibly leverage these resources. Learning from AI “hallucinations” (misinterpretations or inventions by the AI) highlights the importance of correct design when using them. In the learning process of said Module, understanding how to take advantage of AI is essential. Clarity and precision guide AI toward producing relevant and accurate results. Generally, the art of creating powerful presentations transcends the digital world. One o...

Conclusion and key learnings

Imagen
At the conclusion of Module 1, several key learnings from the topics covered throughout the course can be highlighted. Beginning with the initial topic, “Introduction to AI,” we, as future educators, gained an understanding of the fundamental concepts of AI and its applications in education. This knowledge fosters a learning environment that encourages innovation and critical thinking for both students and teachers. Exploring responsible AI emphasized the importance of ethical considerations, including fairness, accountability, and transparency in AI systems. Educators can integrate these principles into their teaching to prepare students for the responsible use of technology. Additionally, our awareness of AI limitations, such as hallucinations or the generation of incorrect information, underscores the need for careful evaluation of AI-generated content. The study of prompt design and engineering equips educators with essential skills for creating effective prompts, enhancing in...

In this section of the blog, I would like to include some prompts that I created, along with those from my classmates. These prompts are important to me and demonstrate the work we developed during the module, reflecting what I learned. -The presentation which was created as a group following the step, creating the prompt and the visual code. https://ues1-my.sharepoint.com/:p:/g/personal/lm17060_ues_edu_sv/EZK9Z0FjV9ZEkKCelyOy-rcBKQdl0lzciD-yQd56nUyHkw?rtime=w87RmnZT3Eg -The website we created for teacher https://aiforteachers.weebly.com/               An image based on a prompt I created My lego figure                                                                                                     ...
