MODULE 1: INTRODUCTION TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DESIGN THINKING - Introduction
Welcome to the blog created based on previous thoughts, main ideas, and experiences after the learning acquired from Module 1 of the “AI Applied to ESL” course.
The module, based on artificial intelligence (AI), is not just a buzzword but a beacon of progress. Initially, I thought that AIs were just apps that could be used on the phone without taking into account the amazing things that can be obtained from different AIs by using them correctly. This module has taken into account the learning of not only knowing what an AI is but also how to design, learn from its hallucinations, and know how to use them to obtain successful results. This module takes us on an extensive journey into the world of AI, a realm filled with complexities and continuous advances. As we delved into the world of artificial intelligence, we also gained knowledge about the principles of responsible AI, ensuring that our innovations are as ethical as they are innovative for use in the world of education.
The phenomenon of AI “hallucinations” presents a challenge to us, future teachers, inviting us to understand and refine the way we interact with these intelligent systems. Through prompt design and engineering, we learned to navigate crafting prompts that lead to meaningful and accurate AI responses. However, our exploration did not end with the digital. We also had the opportunity to leverage effective communication, sharing ideas on how to create powerful presentations that resonate and inspire. And as we advance the fabric of technology, we adopt the principles of Design Thinking, a methodology that champions creativity, empathy, and practicality to solve complex problems.
This blog summarizes the work of an entire module based on AI and beyond. It is a place where technology meets humanity, where data meets design, and where everything is a step towards a future designed with intention and insight.

Personally, I believe that it is crucial for AI to be implemented not only in every existing school but also across all aspects of life. The benefits it offers are substantial. AI significantly simplifies our lives, alleviating our headaches. This is particularly true in the field of education, where being a teacher involves much more than merely imparting knowledge on a specific topic. It encompasses planning, critical thinking, and meticulous evaluation of students’ progress.

I actually agree with you, at first, I thought AI was just an app or a platform that some people use for technological purposes but then I realized that everybody can use AI for everything. We just need to know how to use them and we can get great results. For example when creating lesson plans for our classes.
