Reflection


When reflecting on the key concepts of AI learned in Module 1 and its intersection with human-centered design, it is important to highlight the enormous power of technology in the area of education and the importance of managing it responsibly. The introduction of AI has been revolutionary, but it requires an ethical framework that takes into account responsible AI. This ensures that as AI systems become more complex, they remain aligned with human values and social well-being, especially in the area of teaching, so that both students and teachers can responsibly leverage these resources.

Learning from AI “hallucinations” (misinterpretations or inventions by the AI) highlights the importance of correct design when using them. In the learning process of said Module, understanding how to take advantage of AI is essential. Clarity and precision guide AI toward producing relevant and accurate results.

Generally, the art of creating powerful presentations transcends the digital world. One of the most popular thoughts in this Module 1 was, “Why didn’t I know about this when I was in my teaching practices?” This realization leads to successful outcomes, as AIs are and will continue to be useful in the teaching area. It reminds us that the essence of communication lies in the human touch: attractive narratives and persuasive storytelling that capture the attention of our audience (students).

Finally, Design Thinking offers a great opportunity for innovation—a process that involves ideation and experimentation. It is a mindset that fosters solutions that are not only technologically sound but also deeply human. Together, these concepts create a future where technology serves humanity, where AI amplifies our potential as teachers, and where every creation becomes an opportunity to innovate in our future classes as educators. This reflection is a summary of the importance of responsible AI in education.




As educators, we constantly encounter innovation. The arrival of AI has ushered in a new era, transforming the educational landscape. AI provides us with endless opportunities for growth, such as personalized learning. It allows educators to create classes that adapt to each student's pace, tailoring content and exercises to their unique needs. For English learners, this means targeted language practice, instant feedback, and adaptive challenges.

AI can objectively assess language proficiency. It equips us with automated tools that analyze writing, pronunciation, and comprehension samples, providing valuable insights to educators. However, we must remain vigilant to ensure that AI assessments align with language learning objectives.

AI-generated content serves as a valuable resource. Students can explore diverse perspectives through AI-curated articles, essays, and dialogues. Yet, we must guide students to critically evaluate AI-generated content.

 It is of utmost importance to mention that AI complements, rather than replaces, teachers. Our role evolves from mere transmitters of knowledge to facilitators of critical thinking. We must foster a supportive environment where students interact with AI tools while valuing human mentorship.

I firmly believe that teaching English today involves digital literacy. Students must navigate AI-powered platforms. Integrating digital literacy into language classes prepares students for the AI-infused world.

In an AI-driven world, let us harness the potential of AI while safeguarding the essence of human learning. As educators, we shape the future, and our reflections guide us toward an inclusive, AI-enhanced English teaching experience.

I asked the same when i started using AI. “Why didn’t I know about this when I was in my teaching practices?”there are different amazing tools we did not know before, and they are really useful. I liked this phrase:“ AI amplifies our potential as teachers, and where every creation becomes an opportunity to innovate in our future classes as educators.” I think that it is true because Artificial Intelligence helps us think outside the box. It allows us to be creative, and it is time-saving.

  2. Hello, Wendy. First and foremost, let me tell you that you did an excellent job! I really enjoyed your experience throughout the module one. We see eye to eye when you say we have to be responsible when using AI, and of course, we always have to prioritize our well-being. Besides, I would also have wanted AI when I was in my teaching practices. I would've kept away many headaches.
